Part 2: Function - Top four reasons to Upgrade your Vacuum to BaseVac Dental

Dental vacuums are the heart of the dental practice. Making the right decision for a clinic can be stressful, as it is an investment that will affect the clinic for 10+ years. BaseVac started this blog series to show Dental Professionals the top four reasons why they should choose BaseVac for their office.

R.E. Morrison, the parent company to BaseVac, has over 30 years of experience with air and vacuum in other industries such as woodworking, breweries, and industrial bakeries. Over a decade ago, we saw an opportunity to take our knowledge and expertise in vacuum to the Dental Industry. Today’s blog will be speaking about the design and function of our system, showing how our pumps stand out from all others.

Function

The suction requirements of the Dental Industry are unique to this industry. Along with our own experience, BaseVac used the failures and successes of existing vacuum systems to create our powerful dental vacuums. A part of our designs that help set us apart are the following;

  1. Low maintenance and on-going costs

  2. Well-designed air/water separators

  3. Upgradeable motors

Low Maintenance and On-Going Costs

BaseVac is an oil-less dry-vacuum vane-based system. Our design allows us to achieve higher than average suction, well requiring very little repair or maintenance. Our robust systems can take more abuse than most systems on the market, with less upkeep and on-going costs.

Maintenance

Aside from semi-annual preventative visual inspections (which can be easily performed by the clinic staff), BaseVac vacuums can provide a Dental Clinic with powerful suction for 6000-8000 hours without regular maintenance. Our vanes, on average, last upwards of 8000+ hours, meaning our vacuums do not require any extra parts or service for roughly 5 years. At which point, a one-hour service call will be required to change the vanes and intake filters, giving the office another 6000-8000 hours of amazing service.

On-going Costs

As vacuum pumps get older, many systems on the market become obsolete, requiring Dentists to reinvest large sums and buy a whole new system. BaseVac is an environmental company; we do not believe in waste. For this reason, we have designed our systems to have the ability to exchange old motors for new. When our systems reach the end of their useful life cycle, our motors can be pulled out and exchanged with a new or rebuilt motor, saving the Dental Professionals from having to re-invest in a whole new system. When you buy a BaseVac, it is literally the last system you will ever have to buy again.

Service Technicians and Dentists love our products because of the simplicity. BaseVac understands that there is no such thing as a piece of equipment that is 100% failure proof, that is why we have designed our system with redundancies, to ensure the least amount of downtime possible. There aren’t any motherboards, software updates, or expensive parts to replace in the control box. If the control box has an issue, a service technician can easily get our systems up and running with a simple by-pass while they source the parts they need locally. Even when waterlogged or with a broken vane slot, a BaseVac can carry you through the day, so you do not lose billable hours.
